- Drop the backup — the Mossanid backup file. It is usually a 7z file with no extension. The zip format is also accepted. The file is analysed and nothing is written.
- Check the analysis table — each detected company has one row (see below).
- Confirm — the import runs in the background. You can leave the page.
- Follow the import — a progress bar per company shows 5 steps: “Backup analyzed”, “File ready”, “Data loaded”, “Import in progress”, “Imported”. Then the history shows the result: fiscal years, entries and lines carried over. The Open the file link opens the imported dossier.
This is a dedicated page, not a dialog. Access: the Import from Mossanid button in the list of firm dossiers, or the accounting onboarding of a blank dossier.

What is imported
Section titled “What is imported”- Fiscal years: with their Mossanid status (open or closed). Opening balances are frozen.
- Company identifiers (IF, RC, patente, CNSS…): taken from the backup. The accountant sees them read-only.
- Accounts: if the code exists in the shared chart of accounts, the account is customised (never duplicated). Otherwise, it is created. 8-digit codes are kept as they are.
- Journals: mapped by role, from the entries: opening balances (“OUVERTURE”), sales (“VENTE”), purchases, miscellaneous operations, closing, banks (BQ1…) and cash (CA…). The Mossanid code stays in the reference of each line.
- Entries: one folio becomes one entry. Each line keeps its original date.
- Lettering, journal/account ranges (warn mode) and accounting settings.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- A created dossier uses one seat of the firm. When the dossiers to create exceed the free seats, the confirm button is disabled and a message is shown.
- Only a blank dossier (no entry) can receive an import. A dossier with entries is left untouched: its company is skipped.
- An existing fiscal year with no entry is reused if it has the same dates as an imported year. If it overlaps with other dates, it is replaced.
- Imported opening balances are carried over as they were and are never recalculated.
- The copy of the previous year’s closing (lines with no journal and no date) is not imported.
- An invalid date (for example 31/11) is moved to the end of the month.
- Each line keeps its original date in the ledger. The entry date stays shown in small print.
- Not imported yet: fixed assets, capital, VAT, third parties.
- From the accounting home of a blank dossier, the same page imports a single company into that dossier.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- The confirm button is disabled: the dossiers to create exceed the free seats. Choose Skip for some companies or add seats.
- A company failed: read the message in the history. Fix the cause, then run the import again with the same backup.
- The page is not available: only a firm user (accountant) can import.
